Celery leaves you smiling.

Just lately I have been trying to grow vegetables from the roots I have cut from shop bought, supermarket produce. Not really to save money but more for the fun of it. I have been travelling and miss my garden so whilst staying in places for the odd month here and there, I am able to grow something in a jar and then leave it for the next guest to carry on helping by nurturing it’s growth.

Whilst helping my daughter to create a small garden when I stayed with her in Kent UK, we planted some celery. The leaves have sprouted and looked lovely on her sunny window sill.

‘Can we eat these?’

‘Certainly.’

Did you know celery leaves make a lovely addition to salads either as a garnish or chopped up into the mix. To add – here are some nutritional facts:- 100 grams of celery leaves equates to 35 cals. 3.9grams fibre, 325 milligrams of calcium.

Not to mention the amazing flavour..

Hiya, I am Lauren, a lifestyle traveller, writer and health Nerd. Due to lockdown I decided to get on with writing my blog and catching up with friends new and old. I believe we are one world that for most of us wants to promote peace and goodwill to each other, wherever you are in the world I wish you well. I hope we connect and share our stories.
