Poem – A poem for travel minds

1 min read

I laid my head and dreamed of friends,

Their laughter echoes in faraway corners,

Still and frozen in time, they stay

My journey took me far away.

It is true, we move in a world made of trailing paths

But the friends who stay behind forget we have gone

Only to bring back the gift of stories

To broaden lives and enhance thoughts

Shared with passion and sincerity

Still they hide in shadows.

As time locks in repetitive monotony

And homecoming reminds me of the tale

Of why I went away.

I wake I move I sleep

I wake I move I sleep

I wake I move I sleep

I wonder why we yearn possessions

gathering

A circle of want.

Tied and bound

Then away fall the ties and freedom is fair

To seek the friends newly found.

Hiya, I am Lauren, a lifestyle traveller, writer and health Nerd. Due to lockdown I decided to get on with writing my blog and catching up with friends new and old. I believe we are one world that for most of us wants to promote peace and goodwill to each other, wherever you are in the world I wish you well. I hope we connect and share our stories.
