I took myself back to the dream of life,
stretched far, its fingers waving in the wind,
loose and without direction.
I have miles to tread.
Un-perturbed this journey beckons.
I took myself back to the dream of perception,
and stared at the image, amidst colour and sky,
my outline impatiently waiting for content,
unaware of a design delicate or dragged.
I took myself back to the dream of ambition,
saw mountains and rivers and walls to climb,
I felt in my breath and counted my heartbeats,
pulled knots as i undid restrictions.
I took myself back and recalled all the tears,
sent down from a universal reasoning,
to test the endurance i had been gifted at birth.
I walked through the storms , through the mud.
I took myself back to the dream of life,
and saw the child smiling with excitement,
she shouts but I answer too slowly.
She will not listen,
a tiny speck, a spell, upon a universe,
beyond a universe.
